Meet Laura, she’s a friend of mine and an epic Auckland celebrant, see her website here. I met her years ago (at a Wedding obviously) and we just loved working together over the years.
She told me one day she was engaged! She told me about her wedding day idea and I thought “Man this is going to be SO COOL” and sure enough (as always) I was right.
We started the day off with Laura and Oren getting ready in their little apartment together, it looked so cool. You really don’t need anything fancy for great photos if it means something to you.
Once they were ready we went into town early and had a random stroll around, honesty as a Wedding Photographer in Auckland… This stuff is so fun. We found all sorts of little spots with amazing light.
We also visited two of Laura & Orens favourite places a local book shop called “The Green Dolphin Bookshop” and one of the coolest record shops ever! called “Flying Out”
Stopped of for an iced coffee and then strolled into the Ceremony like the bosses the are, here come the tears…
The ceremony was held at the Sapphire Room, it was filled with such great light. Honestly a dream. The celebrant was Lauras mate Philipa. I’d actually met her before at a Wedding I photographed in Queenstown where she’s from. Such a great person.
They had a cool surprise group reading where random guests were picked out to read something special, it was really special and such a laugh.
After the ceremony we made our way down to Brewport across the street in Ponsonby for a few speeches, some beer, Lauras insane Wedding Brownies and some more tears
Finally, we popped out for some of the beautiful light going on around Ponsonby, tell you what, dirty alleyways make for some pretty sweet photos!
Then back for some dancing with plenty of Dad’s dance moves.
